On Albion Cheaters

Date Posted: 7:24am Subject: OT: Alb Cheaters
Can someone tell me what is fun about a game when you cheat? I've been playing this game too long to have it ruined by Alb players who feel they are superior even though they are cheating. If you cheat you are the real loser. You know who I'm talking about too. Cheaters don't find themselves on the box of Wheaties, except for Mary Lou Retton. The designers of this game knew that the younger crowd would choose Albion, so they were given certain advantages like Cabalists and Camelot. But Albs, by nature, are never satisfied. I've seen it happen before in Wing Commander and I can see it happening again. There are obvious holes in the system, but Midgard players have enough honor to not exploit them. You guys suck.
Now every game has its share of maggots. I can't tell you how many I encountered in the beta of Mike Tyson's Punch Out. But Albs seem to take the cheese. If they aren't whining on the board about lag and Ted Nugent they're off running through the fields with flutes and relics. Big deal. We could all afford to live in luxury if the cost of freedom were based on the size of your heart. If you want to cheat, go play blackjack with a blind refugee from Chad.
I hate to vent on these boards and bring the rest of you good people into my misery. But it just had to be said. Albion players can't handle a level playing field. If they could they would have picked Midgard. The designers never hid the fact that Midgard was designed for more experienced players. Retards. Every one of you. Suck it up and run.
Date Posted: 10:29am Subject: RE: OT: Alb Cheaters
It's so easy for you to sit back and suck all the life out of the game, isn't it? I can't tell you how tired I get of people saying that every time I die and call my killer a cheater I am being childish. That would be the case if I did it every time, but I don't. So what do you have to say about that? What's that? I can't hear you. Didn't think so. Next!
You Albs have a lot of nerve. First you take down keeps like Caledonia when you know we only have 20 people inside of them, yet you still cry "unfair" when we take yours. Just remember, 4:00am CST is like 10:30pm in California. But I guess you retards thought we all lived in Chicago. Jordan was good, but he wasn't that good. Say it to my face!
You make me sick. Love it or leave it! If you want to take the high road you'll probably see me there with the presence of the sun to outlast the past. Get over yourself. You probably still think it's all about quests. Maggot.
Date Posted: 12:12pm Subject: RE: OT: Alb Cheaters
So the truth has come out. All it takes is one post tainting the "good name" of Albion and soon the thread is flooded with crybabies looking for shelter. If you can't take the heat you shouldn't be in here with the grownups. Every post I see from an Alb player makes it clear that I am dealing with another 12 year old who thinks that classic rock means Color me Badd. If you spent as much time in the library as you do cheating you might cure cancer. It's always someone else's fault, isn't it? Don't blame me for the Fiero.
If you want to cheat, go play Counter-Strike. If you want to dress up as a woman and flirt with everybody, go play EQ. If you want to experience life the way it really was in 13th century England and Portugal, play DAoC. We'll see if you're man enough. Come fight me without your cheats and see how long you last. I'll be the one dancing on all the dead Albs. You Hibs had better watch yourselves too. Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

Oh yeah, bring it on. I guess you were that loser I stuck last night. If you want some action you're looking right at it. Come get some and tell me what you really want. Nobody ever expects it from the shadowblade, but I have a secret. I use two axes and poison them both! You heard right! What do you have to say about that? I've already talked to Mythic and they said that they do allow that. Hah! Try it again and you'll get the same results. I hope you don't mind my size 7 1/2 imprint on your back. Get the Windex. I don't want to pull my own chain, but I think I've brought some respect back to Midgard. We were in the battleground and saw a Hib running back to his PK. After my group stunned him and hit him with a couple of bolts I took him down with a nice backstab. It was awesome. He'll know better next time he sees me coming. I know he got a good look at me because I jumped on his body for about ten minutes until he released. Didn't think a Shadowblade could do that much damage, did you? Your guys may have killed me while I was jumping on you, but my point was made. Two can play at that game. I'm sure you'll write to the strike team to tell them how overpowered the Shadowblades are. You through crying yet? Anytime you want a rematch you know where I'll be. Geez, no wonder I quit playing my warden. It's hard to beat a shadowblade when you know what you're doing. Reed 'em and weep.
Date Posted: 7/8 7:00am Subject: RE: To the Hib I killed tonight - Nice Try
Respect can be gained through complete dominance, which I showed in taking down that Hib. You talk of things that interest those in need of the type of power that only comes from within. But look in the mirror. If you don't want me jumping on your body then you need to kill me first. But you Hibs seem to be having trouble doing that. If you face me you had better bring some backup. A stun followed by a couple of bolts and you'll be sorry you ever met me. I take it up a notch. That's why I'm the champion of Midgard and you're just a chump peon from Hibernia. Sure, go cry to the strike team and see if they give you any biscuts. I'll be waiting to use your body like a trampoline.
Date Posted: 7/8 7:13am Subject: RE: To the Hib I killed tonight - Nice Try
Kor, you are obviously a rookie with a new account. I can't fault you for that though. If you knew anything about this game you would see that a shadowblade, when played correctly, well be the glue that holds a team together. How good can a group be without a shadowblade? What's wrong, cat got your tongue. I didn't think so. Why don't you invest a few more hours into the game before you post such dribble. But don't get discouraged. Keep your chin up high and represent Midgard like I do. Apology accepted. I'll see you around and when you get high enough there will be a spot for you in my group. I was group leader the other night.

Date Posted: 6/6 7:02am Subject: Too Powerful?
Last night I witnessed a massacre. Two uppity runemasters were personally killing everything in Mularn. After they logged a Mythic Strike Team entered to survey the damage. I overheard them saying that the two in question (Roller and Yourbooty, a name I have now appealed) had crossed the line. I think the guys have been banned. They might need to look into the Runemaster class. I would expect a patch soon.
Date Posted: 6/6 10:38am Subject: RE: Too Powerful?
These guys must have been level 50 the way they were killing everything. Tell me why a runemaster would think showing off his limitless power is fun. Maybe it's me, but I don't think it's fair that they can get that powerful. I play a Warden and I'm lucky if I can kill a blue. Usually I stick to greens. But not these guys. Thanks a lot, Roller and Yourbooty. You deserve what you got.
Date Posted: 6/6 11:04am Subject: RE: Too Powerful?
I have a level 23 warden named Hotpants on another server. He pretty much sucks. Nobody will ever group with him because everybody says warden's aren't any good. I created Dogsnack so that I could check out Midgard. All I know now is that there's no way I'm going to be a Runemaster because I know they're about to get nerfed.
Date Posted: 6/6 11:37am Subject: RE: Too Powerful?
I wasn't on as a Warden, braniac. And no, I was not trying to group with you. I don't know what you're talking about. But when I see you two marching through, killing everything in site without breaking a sweat I get angry. I'm trying to kill stuff and you leave me with nothing. How fun is it for you to wipe out hill cats and werewolves when all it takes is a couple of spells? Give me a break. You think you're so tough, but tough is picking a real class and working for your xp, not picking some uber class like the runemaster and sending the world to hell. Your blatent display of power will surely result in the nerf of which the Strike Team spoke. They're the real heroes.
Date Posted: 6/6 12:47pm Subject: RE: Too Powerful?
Geez, you people need to calm down. I'm not sure why I'm getting these insults. I just think the Runemaster class is so overpowered that it is a joke. Big deal that you can make it to level x as a runemaster. Who couldn't? Why don't you try being a warden where the only spell you get only increases your chance of dying? That's a challenge. Succeding in Midgard is not. I don't want this to sound like I'm coming down on all of Midgard, because I'm sure your realm is good for its purpose. But quests aren't everything, people. If you want to be a super character then you need to decide what's important and look in the mirror.
Date Posted: 6/6 1:03pm Subject: RE: Too Powerful?
It's OK. Apology accepted, people. The miracle lies within each of us. Five times is enough for anybody. If you can live with that then so can I. I think I'll stick with Hibernia, and if I can get Hotpants up to your level I'll be waiting for a little payback. Until then, maggots!
Date Posted: 6/6 1:36pm Subject: RE: Too Powerful?
Fine, I was trying to be nice but I can only be pushed so far. If you guys want to play that way then I'll stoop to your level and we can all be happy. Two can play at that game. How would you guys like it if I created an all-powerful level 10 character and killed everything? You wouldn't. That's the bottom line, plain and simple. I don't pay a monthly fee just to sit around and wait for the next matinee. Why should I? There are a ton of other ways to pass the time, so don't molest me just because I chose this one. It was my understanding that the game was going to be balanced. It says so right on the box. Albion was going to be the land of Arthur. Hibernia was going to be the land of Merlin. Midgard was going to be the land of Thor. Well, will somebody tell me what this "Merlin" is doing in Midgard? If I had a dollar for every thread saying how the Midgard Runemaster was the most powerful in the game I would be rich. Where are the Berserkers? Where are the Spiritmasters? Are you scared? You should be. One day you're going to log in and find that everything is dead because Mythic refused to nerf the class that they all play. You didn't know that did you? Well it's true. Why do you think they have the coolest names? I like the game, but I don't like the way it's headed. You bandwagon fans aren't helping any either. If there is a problem we should work together to fix it, not run around trying to figure out who said "maggot this" or who said "maggot that". I think that's one point all of us can agree on. Now I gotta get back to work.
Date Posted: 6/6 5:02pm Subject: RE: Too Powerful?
I just hope we can save this game before it's too late. You can't have megalords running around blasting every hill person they see and think that this situation can last. I once saw a runemaster strike down a hill cat like it was nothing. NOTHING! Since Mythic has taken drastic steps to ensure that nobody is cheating the only explanation is that the RM is way too powerful. The great sucking sound you hear on the servers nowadays is the xp all going to the runemasters. Why do you think the top guys are all runemasters? Has the picture finally come into focus for you out there? It all adds up, doesn't it? You bet it does. It doesn't make me feel big to be the whistle blower like in that Thriller video, but if it makes everybody wake up then maybe it's a good thing. My sister lost a leg one time. Talk about an eye-opener. Who wants to look back a year later and say "Why did I waste all of that money?" Seriously, this could ruin the game. It's not all about quests. I'll see you on the battlegrounds, if there still is one.
Date Posted: 6/7 7:03am Subject: RE: Too Powerful?
Well it looks like the masses have spoken. I know that a few of you on this thread still don't agree about the Runemaster, but take a look around. Everyone else does, so maybe you're just not getting it. If we could all sit around in socks watching Wheel of Fortune we would, but we can't, so let's do it right. If anyone needs to know what you think you want, don't be afraid to stick up for yourself. Sissies can fight back too. Most of the designers are good people and never wanted to see the game abused this way. I'm sure they're hard at work doing what they can to prevent powermongers with last names from wiping out all of the white worms and hill cats without so much as an "Excuse me". Where do you think your monthly fee is going, to the NRA? Well, that's my two cents and I hope that settles it once and for all.
Date Posted: 6/7 7:42am Subject: RE: Too Powerful?
What are you talking about? If you want to argue, use facts, not innuendo and shennanigans. If you think it's silly, ignore it. Don't perpetuate this thing just to do it.
Date Posted: 6/7 11:00am Subject: RE: Too Powerful?
I don't care what they do now. Roller is just another lame Conan wannabe. Sure, he can kill with his blue balls of death, but does that make him good? No. Yourbooty probably got scared off by the Strike Team. All of this stuff is a ripoff of Starcraft anyway. What difference does it make? None. Everybody wants to have their cake and they want to eat it. How far will that get you? We've had over 100 replies to this stupid thread, and all but about three have been in complete agreement with me. But you know what? If I were to log on right now I'd see the same thing. Mularn would be a ghost town because some uppity runemaster had to show off for his girlfriend by killing all the stuff. What if I had a quest in there? Did you think about that before you started making out? I didn't think so. Turn off the Al Green and read a post every once in a while. You guys need to grow up. Everybody chill. Try being a warden and see how the game should be played. It's a different story when your class doesn't even have the power to solo blues. It's not always about you. Try that, then see if you can tough it out, big man.
Date Posted: 6/7 8:32pm Subject: RE: Too Powerful?
You guys are a real class act. If you want to take it to the basement, well that's fine with me. You talk about prostitutes, but you hippy hobos are the real prostitutes. Anybody with a calculator can tell you that.
"Hello, Mythic? What can you give me for $13 a month to make up for my personal inadequacies?"
"Well, why don't you try a Runemaster."
Yeah, you're a "kewl" dude. Get over yourself. Someday things are going to do a 360 and you'll be pretty sorry you stayed on track. If you don't want our help, then don't even post. You're just wasting time that you could be spending killing blues. I bet that makes you feel tough, doesn't it. And I'm sure you guys will be rubbing it in my face when I walk by. "Hey, here's a blue. Watch this!"
This whole game boils down to one thing - guts. Guts and determination. Do you runemasters have any? No. Why else would you cast from so far away. If you were men you'd cast like a warden, point blank range. Sure, you'll get interrupted a lot, but you won't feel like a cheap con artist when you take a screaming hill person down. East Coast, where ya at? So the next time some racist runemaster asks me to group, he's going to get a partner that just sits on his behind and mooches some of that sweet xp. What do you think about that? Not looking so sweet now, is it. Read it and weep, tarts.

My dear friend, Ciris,
Although I don’t see eye to eye with you on the issue of retards or mullets, I know that your heart was in the right place. And I don’t fault you for your poor spelling as not all of us were afforded the luxury of private schooling. But we can certainly agree on a few things. You’re right that the runemaster is overpowered. That’s a given. But it doesn’t take a veteran player to know that the warden is gimped. Please, give that dog a bone. I’ve played all kinds of games, computer and board, and the warden is the worst. Tell me how you’re supposed to kill a group of oranges when you can’t even take down a blue? I had two different wardens on the Gawain server and neither one of them could kill a rat boy. Now I’m in Midgard and it seems that every runemaster I see is carrying his own relic. Yeah, that’s fair.
So thanks for showing your support and apology accepted. Together we can make this game work.

Ciris,
I agree with you 100%. Now if we can only get the rest of those Mythic maggots to agree with us the game would be free of steamrolling runemasters. What I love about this topic is that it shows that anybody can come together to make this game better. Here you have two people, one with an education, and one without, who can agree that the game needs to be fixed. It doesn't take a lawyer, it takes a village. Read it and weep. So Ciris, If I might use your words, MYTHIC, YOU 'TARDS HAD BETTER LISTEN. CIRIS AND I WON'T TAKE THIS KIND OF FAVORTISM ANY MORE. Now maybe we should send them a little cheese for there whine.
Thanks, everybody. Keep up the good work and maybe this thing will work out. It's not about quests.

Date Posted: 6/25 12:36pm Subject: The Demise of Igraine, and DAoC
Well, it looks like my complaints have fallen on deaf ears. The game's balancing issues have finally driven everybody away. From the recent figures it seems that membership is at an all-time low and now ranks behind WWII Online. I know that there are some other factors, such as the Sims: Hot Date and that new expansion for Tropico, but the main reason for the exodus is the balancing problem. If it's not Runemasters blowing the snot out of everything, it's the Spiritmasters creating havoc and stealing relics. The game is called DAoC for a reason. A better name for the game now might be "Thanks, This Sucks - Now in 3D".
Tell me what fun a game is when nobody plays? Last night I tried to organize a relic raid, but nobody showed up. I can't tell you how many times I died. We all know that the way people play their healers is a big factor, but I'm not going to mention that. They make up 1/3 of all characters, but they still suck if you don't use them right. I'd expect that in a rap video, but not in Midgard.
The Gawain server has been kicking our behind for the past six months, now we might as well give them the keys. They already have twice as many relics as the next three servers, but what are you maggots going to do about it? You're just going to stop playing the game and whip your cats. I've seen it happen a million times. That's the same kind of attitude that allowed Battlestar Galactica to get kicked off the air. But how many apologies did Starbuck get? None. And don't get me started on the whole Vance and Coy replacements for Bo and Luke Duke. It's happened before and it's going to happen again. You want to play, let's play. Don't hit on a 19.
So if we're going to do it let's do it right. The next time I call for a raid I expect more to show up than just Albion guards. Don't just sit there and wait on another Patrick Swayze hit movie/song. It's not going to happen on it's own. We need to do it ourselves.

Date Posted: 6/21 8:38am Subject: Runemasters, your reign is over.
Well, it looks like they’ve finally taken my advice and nerfed the runemasters. Last night I saw a runemaster pull a werewolf. Apparently he thought it would be easy like before, but this time the werewolf caught him. The runemaster tried to fight, but had to run. I shouted “I hope you burn in hell, cheater!” right before he died. Yeah, the werewolf might have killed me too, but I didn’t care. It was worth it to see that guy die. And thanks to all you healers for ignoring me. But it made me happy to see that Mythic finally lowered the runemasters from their god-like status. What can you expect when each runemaster flaunts these incredible powers? I get pretty tired of seeing them kill everything and running around saying “bling bling”. Runemasters are like the guys who drive Civics with coffee can tailpipes. Yeah, we know that Civics are the best cars, but you don’t have to rub our noses in it. So let’s stop the endless debate over what’s the best song (Ted Nugent – Stranglehold) and cooperate on this thing. If we get it done right there might just be a tomorrow. If not then you’ll see me crying in the mall.
By the way, how do you start a guild?

There’s the pudding, you retards. Ha ha ha, that stupid Dogsnack doesn’t know his beans from Shinola. What do you have to say now? The game designers were inspired by King Arthur, so it goes without saying that they’d make the runemasters the most powerful, just like in that movie with Jodie Foster. Who wins when a runemaster fights some hillbilly champion? The answer is nobody. We all lose. Even the Gawain server. Don’t break wind and tell me it’s just the cheese. OK, everybody chill. I don't know that much about skalds, but I'll tell you what I do know. Everybody knows that the skalds of Midgard are based on the Norse god Thor. So if you see a dead skald you know that guy has to suck. I mean how do you kill Thor? The best thing about skalds is they can play their speed song to set up their backstab. It's pretty huge. Their one big drawback is their inability to wear armor. But that's no big deal when you got the banjo workin'. I met a skald named Rokky Tar the other day and he gave me a gold piece after I saved his life. That kind of money is pretty hard to come by, so apparently they do alright with the ladies too. If I had to start over I'd probably make a skald. He'd definitely replace my warden. Man those guys suck. Talk about lame.
The Rules

Date Posted: 6/14 12:30pm Subject: The Rules
Allright, if all of you want me to be speak for you I will do so, but there are going to be rules. This thread will be my direct link to Mythic. I don’t want to see anybody litter this thread with talk that is reserved for sailors. There are four ways to do things: The right way, the wrong way, the Mythic way, and my way. Now if we can get down to business, let’s do so.
We need to work together on this. I can’t stress that enough. This game has a lot of potential and I think you maggots will agree to that. None of us wants the game to turn into a bunch of runemasters whoopin’ up on everything and blowing down keep doors. Combat isn’t everything. That’s why we have Paladins and Thanes.
Let me give you a true story to illustrate my point. One time I was grouping as my shadowblade and we allowed a Healer in the group, against my protest I might add. I can’t tell you how mad I got when this guy would sit down in the middle of a fight and say he was out of mana. Sorry, but if you expect me to tank, you had better heal me. Needless to say, I dropped that group and quit my guild, no matter what those guys will tell you.
So if you people will quit plaguing me with your innuendo maybe you will see the good that can come out of a thread. Mythic, change your evil ways and make the game fair. Quit showing us that Gawain is your favorite server. We don’t want a game where people get married and sing songs. And last I checked there wasn’t a single berserker who liked their character. We need to move in a positive direction and not get ourselves mired in all the politics of the cold war. Fighting is for the fighters and healing is for the healers. If ever there was a time for actions to speak louder than the arguments of previous generations, we are approaching it a light speed.
Keep up the good work and make sure it’s out in time for Christmas, if not you are a bunch of fools. In the words of Socrates, “Ask only what the children will wear before the cold is allowed in.”

I get sick to my delicate stomach every time I see a healer class run away as if he never heard my /send for a rez. You out there who play healers need to listen up right now. Your job is to rez and heal ANYBODY who needs it. Anytime you pass a tombstone you are seeing a monument to healers who failed. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve died and tracked down a healer only to hear them tell me “I’m about to go to the battleground and Gna Faste is too far away.” If we don’t stick together this whole thing is going to go up in smoke. If you get a request for a rez, that takes top priority. Mythic makes no secret of this and it’s in big bold type on their website. Look it up, maggots. Trust me, I play a shadowblade, so I know. Just because your class is, by design, the glory hounds of the realm doesn’t mean you can ignore the workers who get the job done. If you don’t believe in what you know can be done there’s no point in wishing about tomorrow. So please, let’s just try to work together to help solve these problems. If we do soon we might stop getting our butts kicked by the Gawain server. Play your class correctly and maybe you’ll get to experience the true joy of DAoC. It’s not just about the points. Read ‘em and weep.
Date Posted: 6/14 9:18am Subject: RE: Healers, learn your role.
If I make some Johnny Come Lately's "no-rez" list, it's because of the red-headed monster I call Jealousy. I've seen many a healer smitten by that beast. Let me ask you healers one question? If you weren't serious about healing, why did you make a healer? There's a time for fightin' and there's a time for healin'. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell you what time it is.

Yes, it looks as if this might be the end for the Dog pound. West Coast, where ya at? But I’ve enjoyed the ride. They say you can’t put a price on memories, and that is very true. My time spent in Midgard was some of the happiest in my life. Even after playing in 3 NFL post-season games, the thrill of taking a BG keep tops them all. If I had to make a thank you list, where would I begin? I’ve met so many wonderful people in this game, that to single out twenty five would be unfair. But you know who you are (waves at Corn Noodle).
The game has really given me an appreciation for what life really was like in the 17th century. Everybody thinks that they have it rough. But you maggots don’t know what rough is until you have to feed your family with nothing more than a piece of old leather. Still, getting that leather was the fun part. Some people think it’s all about the quests, but it really isn’t.
If you want to see what measures the world, walk up to the line and you’ll never forget. The pieces fit, so don’t try. Representin’! I wish the game had been done a little differently. I worked my you-know-what off to get my armorcraft skill up to 1900. But what good is my Bone-Dragon Blood Helm that cost 14 Mithril to make against some snot-nosed Runemaster who thinks its funny to blast me while I’m stuck in the moat? Make the crafting better. The last thing we need are a bunch of uppity dance troops telling us how to run the game.
I’m not going to get in to class balancing again. I’ve beaten that cat into the ground. You Runemasters can burn in hell. That’s all I’m going to say on the subject.
People have been asking me what I’m going to do now that I’m leaving the game. Well I’ve always thought about giving something back to the community. I might see about getting a job at the mall and really making a difference. Let’s do it for the children. They’re the real heroes.
I’d like to apologize to the two women I married online. It was wrong of me not to tell you two about each other. Hornydwarf, you always brought a smile to my face. The way you used your emotes really touched me. And Leetkilla, you deserved better. I’m sorry I lied to the both of you and I hope you can forgive me. I know I took our relationship for granted and I hope I haven’t tainted the sacred institute of MMORPG marriages.
I know it doesn’t make my leaving any easier, but I want you all to know that if I could compare you, my dear friends, to a song I would.

Thus ends the Dogsnack Era.

The Rules

Wow! That's a great story. Is there any way you can include Dogsnack? Thanks.

Dogsnack
Thus ends the Dogsnack Era.
Rest in peace, wise one. You will be missed.
